Christmas unicorn flannel PJs
These are my Christmas Unicorn Flannel PJs. So pleased with these - despite them being made in the middle of summer. I am surprisingly keen to wear them (but not quite enough for the crappy weather to come back).
There's so much right about these. Pockets, owls, flannel, 'unicorn' coloured pom poms and contrasting mint flannel.
I like the way the pockets are constructed. I wonder if I should have pattern matched more.
I used another of my new eyelet sets - I think I might be getting addicted to using these on projects. Unfortunately the ribbon I used for the waist ties was too hard to pull out of the small size and I pulled one loose (just pretend with me that they're still fine, ok?).
I bought this pom pom trim at Spotlight when I had to spend a certain amount to qualify for a reduction voucher. And I've been waiting for a great time to use it. The colours really work with the owl fabric. I bought the owl flannel at Fabric a Brac. I've only used up half of it so hope to make up matching PJs for my little person and her cousin!
Pattern: McCall's Kwik sew 3882 Misses'
Size: Between an L and XL. I just remade the size from the last time (but I can't seem to find the post). Weirdly it was in my pre-tracing days in 2014 and I cut into the pattern itself. Luckily its fairly generous sizing.
Fabric: Cotton flannel - owls from fabric a brac and mint from spotlight
Learnt: Be careful about pulling too much ribbon through eyelets as it pulls them off (oophs) and the pattern was so much easier to make up this time than when I made it in 2014. I was really annoyed making up the contrasting waistband before but I appreciate the detailing this time and it wasn't that much more fiddly for a more polished look.
