The Friday Pattern Company Adrienne Blouse was all over instagram over the last few months - and rightly so! Its a great pattern and as it turns out an easy and quick sew. I volunteered to pattern test the extended sizing for the pattern and am thoroughly delighted with the make.
I've already wore it with my Itch to Stitch Tierras Joggers for me made May (coincidentally!) and it works really well together. Its definitely fitting well into my wardrobe.
I used up some smaller pieces of fabric I had in my stash. The fabric for the sleeves has great drape and it would have been hard to find something else to use it for.
I graded between sizes as I have a proportionally larger waist and smaller hips. I took a bit out of the elastic measurements as it felt a little loose around the cuffs. I think if I make it again (actually probably when rather than if) I'll shorten them more and also take some length out of the shoulder elastic too. I added an inch and a half to the centre front as a quick accounting for an FBA but would probably spend some more time the next make to do a proper FBA.
The statement sleeves are fun and the method for the neckline is new to me. The Friday Pattern Company was fun to test for. The pattern maker was responsive and took people's comments on board. We're not expected to share the final product and there's a good amount of time allowed to actually do the sewing. I've tested for another company where its been good too (Muse - you're awesome!) and another that was too short a time frame and expected promotional shots and didn't seem to care about what was said. So my praise isn't lightly given!
Size: can't remember. Will dig out my notes to check.
Adjustments: lowered centre front by 1.5" and graded back to the side seams (the front was 1cm longer deliberately and I stretched the back to fit, removed elastic from cuffs and graded between sizes 1x and 2x.
Fabric: from stash and seller lost to the mists of time
Verdict: a wearable piece and a satisfying sew and a pattern company I'll be making from again. Would shorten the neckline elastic (I have a high bust and short torso and I think that coming into play here) and also the cuffs a little bit more.
